Dealing with a Childs Fears

Specialists in child psychology think that in his first year a child may show signs of fear when hearing a sudden noise, or if something falls suddenly, and so on. A child may be afraid of strangers starting from the age of approximately six months, and in the second year a child may be afraid of many things such as animals, cars, slopes, water, etc.

In general, females show more fear than males, and the intensity of the fear may vary according to the intensity of the childs imagination; the more imaginative a child is, the more fearful he may be.

Workers Muasker – 2009

The annual workers Muasker of Jamiyath Thalaba was held at Nooraniya Muslim Maha Vidyalaya Uyanwata on 7th and 8th of March. This gathering saw the enthusiastic participation of more than 400 workers all over the island.
The gathering commenced with the inauguration ceremony. Further, the central council members illustrated on slide presentations of their plans and the scope of work to mark this year as the Year of Dynamism.
At this annual gathering a book titled “Naan Yar” (Who Am I??) authoured by former Nazim Engineer R.M Nismy was also launched. In addition to that the second day saw an important awareness program on the Palestinian struggle. This successful session roused the participants spiritually.
Further, various speakers like Ameer R.Hajjul Akber, Movlavi H.M Minhaj (Islahi), M.J.M Mansoor (Principal Jeelani N.S Balangoada), Movlavi M Mujeeb (Principal Thanvir Academy), and Bro Riyas(Eng) had participated in this program. This innovative gathering was graced by programs like debate competition, dramatic plays, sports, and skill development workshops and various spirit rising exercises.The concluding speech by the Nazim Silmy Juman boosted the participant’s souls; while emphasizing the theme of the gathering. “Stable Mind in an Endless Journey”.

Leadership Training Program for University Students

A special Islamic Leadership Program was organized for the colombo area university students on February 15th at the Darul Iman Auditorium, headed by Dr. Makarim.

This program saw the participation of 26 students from the Universities of Colombo, kalaniya, and Moratuwa.Character building, Leadership change, Self Marketing and Team work were the topics of the sessions conducted by a panel of reputed personalities comprising of Dr Makarim, A.C.A Mazahir (Naleemi), and the director of Serandib Foundation Bro. Y.I.M Hanees.

Book launch – “Nan Yaar?” (Who am I?)

A book was launched by Jamiyyth Thalaba on the 8th of March. The book titled “Who am I?” Discussed deeply the aspects of leadership the author R.M Nismy (former Nazim) in his frontline page says “leadership is not an asset earned from generations or does someone is a leader at birth everyone who is born is with leadership skills but the environment he lives, the guidance he gets and the encouragement he obtains decides the leadership state in ones personality” The chief guest for this grand ceremony was the Ameer R.Hajul Akber followed by Bro. Hassan who illustrated the contents of the book to the gathering. There were several dignitaries and professionals present at this occasion
